No More Clinging to a Scheme 12" vinyl records
It's now official, earlier this week Labrador records took their final order for the Radio Dept.'s Clinging to a scheme on 12" vinyl.
It took just over 80 days for all 1000 copies of the limited edition white vinyl re-issue to sell out.
The original black vinyl pressing took a matter of weeks and it was this high demand which led to the white vinyl re-issue.
If you were amongst the unlucky ones not to get a copy of either pressing, then you can have a look at the pretty vinyl records here and in the artwork section of Clinging to a Scheme's discography page.

Never Follow Suit EP
Never Follow Suit will be the third single to be taken from The Radio Dept.'s third studio Album Clinging to a Scheme
An announcement on the 14th of April 2010 suggested at a June 16th 2010 release, but that's been pushed back to November 9th 2010 instead. This will tie in with a proposed US tour.
Never Follow Suit was the natural choice for the next single as it's the second most popular song on Clinging to a Scheme, based on an online poll by Radio Dept Fans. Add to that the success of the album as it made the top 20 of the Billboard Heat seekers chart being on frequent rotation via the renowned BBC's 6 Music radio station.
The CD single will feature 'Never Follow Suit, 2 new songs and a remix. After the success of Clinging to a Scheme on 12" vinyl and the reissue on white vinyl, Never Follow Suit may itself follow suit with a 12 inch vinyl pressing

Friendly Noise Packing Up, Selling Out and Moving On
| The Radio Dept. | Latest News - 2010 |

An end to 8 years of indie music
Friendly Noise were an indie label with a difference. Residing in Stockholm, Sweden and founded in 2002 by Stefan Zachrisson and Mattias Holmberg, Friendly Noise was a label that followed the philosophies and traditions of the late and great Sarah Records.
They provided a platform for unique and interesting indie acts to showcase their music. This included indie acts like Differnet, The Embassy and Liminals.
Equally as important is that Friendly Noise provided the Radio Dept. with a home for their music when they were still giving away records under the bedroom label, 'Slottet'. The Radio Dept. featured on three Friendly Noise records:
2003's Friendly Noise debut: Friendly People Making Noise,
2006's tribute to Sarah Records: Are You Scared to Get Happy?
2008's Radio Dept.cover of a Go-Betweens classic: Splendid Isolation
The guys at Friendly Noise have stated that they will no longer function as a record label and are packing up. Their last act will be to sell whatever records they have left over.
So if you're a fan and want to get your hands on a piece of indie pop history, then you should head over to their online store (while it still exists) and get yourself a low priced bargain
Friendly Noise Store: : First come first served, while stocks last.
